hurt ankle

now pain in my groin and thigh

The details provided are too scant to provide an intelligent answer, but recognise that the body is one whole. What happens in one area has a knock-on affect elsewhere.

Sprain your ankle > makes you limp > pain in the groin.

Unless the subluxated ankle mortice and subtalar joints are reduced, the ankle will remain disabled and affect other areas of the body.
