Pressure low back and tail bone left buttocks burn spasms posterior left leg pulling and burning sensation

by Bonnie
(az)

I ignored left hip tenderness for years developed left groin pulling with certain positions 2 Days after a jog I developed debilitating pain in low back buttocks and posterior leg. I have had xrays and MRI of lumbar spine and hip all negative.

The pain was so bad I went to the hospital where after 4 Days I had 3 Dr.s Give me 3 Diagnosis left hip bursitis which was injectted, SI pain and piriformis. I have seen another spine specialist who started Physical therapy and steroids (Steroid was ineffective ) I now just had a nerve test also negative.

I have now been in pain requiring narcotics and muscle relaxants for 1 Month. The advice now is to continue therapy and increase activities. I am past frustrated and in need of advice! TY

Start with four simple tests please Bonnie.

1. Sit in an ordinary upright chair and straighten the naughty leg parallel to the ground. Compare to the good leg. To put more stretch on the sciatic nerve, follow the guidelines outlined at C-H for the Slump Test, but be careful, done injudiciously can cause pain.
2. Bend slowly forwards and tell me what you feel.
3. Bend slightly backwards and then to the side. Likewise what do you feel?
4. Lying on your back, pull the knee to the chest and rotate the hip. What do you feel?

Let me know, then we can take this further.
